A Total Hit! Chili Con Carne

Enjoy Mexican cooking at home. How about some chili con carne with plenty of bell peppers? It isn't that spicy, so everyone can have some. This dish is always popular with the guys.

Ingredients: easy to make amount (quite a lot)

Minced beef (or minced pork and beef)
200 g
1 big clove
Red wine (or water)
1 cup
Green bell peppers
Chili powder (see Helpful Hints)
3 tablespoons
Ground cumin
1 tablespoon
☆ Red bell pepper (sweet red bell pepper)
1 (1/2)
☆ Canned tomatoes
1 can (400 g)
☆ Canned kidney beans
1 can (400 g)
☆ Bay leaf
☆ Soup stock cube
☆ Salt
1/4 teaspoon
☆ Pepper
to taste


1. Dice the onion and garlic, and cut the red and green bell peppers into 1 cm cubes. Place the kidney beans in a sieve and rinse with water.
2. Fry the onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add the minced beef, and then add the chili powder and ground cumin once the meat changes colour.
3. Add the red wine and bring to a boil. Add the ☆ ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally (without a lid).
4. Add the bell peppers and simmer for a further 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Take care not to burn the contents.
5. Serve with tortilla (Recipe ID: 184164).
