Crack an egg, whisk with soy sauce, and mix well with rice. Open a pack of natto and briskly mix in the container with the accompanying sauce.
Transfer the rice to a bowl, top with natto, scatter sliced scallions and ground sesame, pour sesame oil in circular motion, and it's done.
If you arrange this on a plate like a cafe dish, a plain egg on rice dish will look fancy.

I used to mix natto and egg together before topping on rice, but when I was making egg on rice for a friend, she advised topping it with natto, and since then I've been a fan of this style! It's not much, but it's a completely different way of eating, so please try it out.
