Okonomiyaki-Style Rice Flour & Chinese Cabbage Patties for Toddlers

These are safe for children with allergies. These "okonomiyaki" don't use any egg, milk, wheat, or soybeans. The rice flour is nice and springy. My children eat these with enthusiasm in the morning.

Ingredients: Makes 3 patties

Rice flour
50 g
Water
50-60 g
Chinese cabbage (or cabbage)
50-60 g
Komatsuna
10 g
Salt
a small amount
Bonito flakes (optional)
a small amount
Aonori (optional)
a small amount
Olive oil
a little

Steps

1. Mince the Chinese cabbage and the komatsuna.
2. Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix together.
3. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and cook the mixture. (I made three small okonomiyaki this time.)
4. Once they are golden brown, flip them over, brown the other side, and they're done!
5. You can cut them into bite-sized pieces to use as finger food for little kids. Top them with mayo and okonomiyaki sauce, and you can serve them to toddlers and adults as well.

Story Behind this Recipe

My son has a wheat allergy, so I wanted to make okonomiyaki using rice flour so that he could eat it safely.
