Rice Burgers Stuffed with Kimpira Stir-fry

Rice Burgers Stuffed with Kimpira Stir-fry

This is an easy recipe for rice burgers using leftovers from kimpira stir-fry. Prepare rice patties with leftover rice and make this for a quick lunch.

Ingredients: 2 burgers

Plain cooked rice
2 modest bowlfuls
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon
a pinch
Dried bonito flakes
1/3 bag
Leftover kimpira (sautéed burdock roots)
as needed
Shichimi spice
to taste

1. Combine the rice, all seasonings, and bonito flakes in a bowl, and mix well. Divide into 4 portions.
2. Form into flat and round patties on plastic wrap. Wrap and squeeze slightly to shape the patties. Chill in the freezer.
3. Align on aluminum foil and bake in a toaster oven. Make it either thick and fluffy or crispy like toasted rice balls. It's up to you.
4. When that's done, sprinkle shichimi chili pepper on two patties. Sandwich kimpira stir-fry in between and enjoy.

Story Behind this Recipe

I was getting bored of buying lunch, and wanted to make something with leftover kimpira. That's when I remembered the addictive rice burgers I ate at Mos Burger (a burger chain in Japan). So, here's a way to make at home.
