Izakaya-style Deep-fried Tuna

How about enjoying the flavors of a Japanese gastropub (izakaya) at home?
These crispy pieces of fried tuna are delicious.


Maguro (for cooking)
4 filets
★Garlic (tubed)
2 cm's worth
★Grated ginger
2 cm's worth
★Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
as needed


1. Cut the maguro into bite-sized pieces and put into a plastic bag with the ★ ingredients. Let sit for 30 minutes to one hour.
2. Coat with the katakuriko and fry in oil. Fry in oil heated to 170℃.
3. You can also use sashimi-grade maguro. If you have sashimi leftover, you can leave it in the marinade and fry it the next day!
