Easy and Fluffy Okonomiyaki

This okonomiyaki will turn out really fluffy, thanks to the tofu.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Flour (cake flour)
150 g
150 ml
5-6 leaves
1/3 block (100 g)
Green onions
As needed
※Tempura crumbs
As needed
※Beni shouga red pickled ginger
To taste
A dash
A dash
※Dashi stock granules
As needed
Thinly sliced pork belly
7-8 slices
Okonomiyaki sauce
To taste
To taste
Bonito flakes or bonito powder
To taste
To taste
Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon


1. Chop the cabbage.
2. Whisk flour and water in a bowl. Add eggs, tofu, green onions, and all ※ ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
3. Add the chopped cabbage into the flour mixture. Stir lightly.
4. Grease a an electric griddle. Pour the batter into a round shape. Top with pork belly and green onions.
5. Cook lightly until both sides are golden brown.
6. Top with okonomiyaki sauce, bonito powder, and aonori seaweed. Enjoy! Also serve with mayonnaise if you'd like.

Story Behind this Recipe

There's no need to use Japanese yam - just use tofu to make a fluffy and soft okonomiyaki.
It's absolutely delicious and not at all powdery!
