I Really Don't Want to Share this Recipe!? Fisherman's Marinated Skipjack Tuna

Seared or sashimi with ponzu weren't the only ways to eat skipjack tuna (katsuo)! Who knew there was such a delicious way to eat it? Even if you are tired of the usual ways to eat skipjack tuna, you will never get tired of this dish. The onions marinated with the skipjack tuna are also delicious.

Ingredients: Serves 3~4

Skipjack Tuna (Sashimi quality)
1/2 of the body
Onion
2
Soy sauce
1/2 cup
Vinegar
1/2 cup
Sugar
1/3 cup
Water
1/4 cup
Leek or other garnish
appropriate amount

Steps

1. Mix the marinade ingredients together. Cut the tuna into bite sized pieces and immerse in the marinade. On top, scatter the thinly sliced onions.
2. Marinate for about 30 minutes, and then remove the onions. Serve the tuna with the onions and a sprinkling of finely chopped leeks, or the garnish of your choice. Stuff your cheeks.

Story Behind this Recipe

This recipe was taught to my husband, and has become a staple in our household. After trying this, normal seared tuna with ponzu isn't quite the same.
