Japanese Leek and Salt Sauce

This recipe calls for equal amounts of sesame oil and lemon juice, so it's very refreshing It's perfect for barbecued beef!
To balance out the flavors, sprinkle on some coarsely ground black pepper before serving.

Ingredients: 2~4 servings

The white part of Japanese leek
about 15 cm
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
★Coarsely ground black pepper (to serve)
as needed


1. Mix the chopped scallion, sesame oil, lemon juice, salt and sugar in a bowl.
2. Garnish any dish with the sauce, and sprinkle some coarsely ground black pepper on top. It tastes better if the pepper is freshly ground.
