Hello Kitty Mochi Ice Cream

I made homemade Hello Kitty mochi ice cream!

Ingredients: about 3 servings

50 g
100 g
100 ml
Corn starch
as needed
Ice cream (your favourite)
as needed
Chocolate decorating pen (white)
Chocolate decoraing pen (black)


1. Gradually add the water to the shiratamako, and stir.
2. Add the sugar, and stir some more.
3. Cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 2 minutes at 500 W.
4. Take it out from the microwave, and microwave again for 1 minute.
5. Take it out from the microwave, and stretch it out on a dusted board with corn starch.
6. Stretch it out into thin rectangle, and cut into 6 portions.
7. When the mochi is cooled down, place it on top of the plastic wrap.
8. Place one scoop of ice cream with the flat side up using an ice cream scoop on the mochi sheet.
9. Wrap it around the ball of ice cream and join the edges. Wrap with the plastic wrap, and roll into a ball.
10. Freeze for at least 1 hour in the freezer.
11. When you are wrapping the ice cream with the mochi sheet, roll into an oval shape for a Hello Kitty version.
12. Make the ears and ribbon using a leftover mochi.
13. Glue the ears and ribbon with the white chocolate decorating pen.
14. Draw the eyes and nose with the black chocolate decorating pen, and done!
