For the Kids Glazed Carrots and Corn

Simmering the carrot first with sugar will result in sweeter flavor. My children give this rave reviews!! Please give it a try.

Ingredients: 2 to 3 servings

120 g
Canned corn
100 g
150 ml
Raw cane sugar (or white sugar)
2 teaspoons
Butter (or margarine)
5 g

1. Peel the carrots, and cut into small pieces.
2. Boil a pot of water. Add the carrots and sugar, and simmer while stirring occasionally over low heat for 7 to 8 minutes.
3. Add the corn and butter, and continue simmering while stirring occasionally until all the liquid in the pot has evaporated.
4. (Edit: 1/17/13) To make this into a tri-colored glazed dish, add snow peas just before all the liquid evaporates.

Story Behind this Recipe

I make glazed carrots a lot, but when I tried adding corn my children ate a lot of it.
These days, I add green beans or snow peas sometimes.
