You'll Want More Beer! Easy Octopus Karaage with Nori Seaweed

I used boiled octopus for sashimi to make a karaage (deep fried dish). The fragrance of the ao-nori seaweed is irresistible.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Octopus (pre-boiled octopus for sashimi)
2 legs
※Aonori
1 tablespoon
※Katakuriko
1 tablespoon
Oil for frying
as needed

Steps

1. Cut the octopus into bite sized pieces, and coat with the ※ ingredients.
2. Deep fry in 355F/180C oil for 20 seconds and it's done.
3. It's great cold too.

Story Behind this Recipe

I grew up in the Setouchi region, so I've been eating octopus karaage since I was a child. It's so expensive in the stores though! So I asked my grandmother how to make it.
