Ginger Pork Loin (Shoga-yaki)

This is a really hearty dish made with tonkatsu grade pork loin. The sweet and spicy sauce goes really well with rice and cabbage.

Salt and pepper
a small amount
★Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
1 1/2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
3 tablespoons
★Grated ginger
1-1.5 teaspoons

1. Lightly season the pork with salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients marked with a ★.
2. Put the katakuriko in a plastic bag and add the pork. Shake to coat the pork.
3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (not listed) in a pan, and add the pork. Brown one side at a time.
4. When it has turned a nice colour, add in the ★ ingredients. Heat over a low heat for a minute and then transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle on the sauce and it's done.
