Great for Bento: Pork Rolls Wrapped in Fluffy White Hanpen Fishcakes

I used fluffy white hanpen to wrap pork rolls.
Bake it so it's nice and crisp, then coat it in a sweet and spicy sauce for an amazingly delicious dish.

Ingredients: 9 rolls

Hanpen
1
Pork (thinly sliced)
about 200 g
Pre-seasoning for pork
Salt and pepper
as needed
Flour
as needed
Sauce ingredients:
★ Soy sauce
1 and 1/2 tablespoons
★ Sugar
1 tablespoon
★ Mirin
1 tablespoon
★ Sake
1 tablespoon
White sesame seeds
to taste

Steps

1. Slice hanpen into 9 pieces, however big as you like. Make them smaller for bento lunch boxes.
2. Wrap pork in hanpen and tighten, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle in flour.
3. Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan and tightly wrap rolls one more time before arranging them in the pan.
4. After roasting on one side, flip over and cook evenly to a crispness, changing the direction.
5. After they are evenly roasted, wipe away excess oil with a paper towel, then add the sauce.
6. Coat the pork in the sauce while simmering. Sprinkle with white sesame seeds, then eat up!

Story Behind this Recipe

Since I love white hanpen fishcakes, I thought hanpen-wrapped pork rolls would be tasty.
As I suspected, the combination of the crispy pork and the fluffy hanpen was delicious.
