Slightly Sweetened Carrot Shirishiri

Slightly Sweetened Carrot Shirishiri

Carrot shiriri is an Okinawan dish that uses julienned carrots and eggs to make a stir-fry. This is my version. It's made easily using mentsuyu noodle sauce. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side.

Canned tuna
1 small can
★Mentsuyu (2x concentrate)
3 tablespoons
2 teaspoons

1. Thinly slice the carrots diagonally, and julienne finely. Beat the eggs.
2. Heat a pan and add the oil from the tuna can (or use vegetable oil) and stir fry the carrots.
3. When the carrot has wilted, add the tuna and mix it in. Add the ★ flavoring ingredients.
4. When everything is evenly flavored, pour the beaten egg at once. Stir with cooking chopsticks.
5. Done!

Story Behind this Recipe

I bought something called "Carrot shirishiri sauce" at the supermarket, and copied it by tasting it.
