Stir-Fried Pork Belly and Cabbage with Okonomiyaki Sauce

It's like okonomyaki without flour, but it's very easy and tasty.
This is an okonomiyaki-style side dish which goes well with rice.

Ingredients: 3 ~ 4 servings

Thinly sliced pork belly
300 g
about 1/6
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Okonomiyaki sauce
to taste
Bonito flakes
1 packet
to taste


1. Shred the cabbage into thick strips. Cut the pork belly into bite-size pieces.
2. Heat a small amount of oil (not listed) in a pan, and stir-fry the pork belly until golden brown. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add the cabbage.
3. When the cabbage is soft and wilted, add the okonomiyaki sauce, and mix briefly. Sprinkle bonito flakes, mix, and done.
4. Eat with mayonnaise if you like.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I was trying to come up with the flavour for the pork belly and the cabbage, okonomiyaki sauce suddenly came to mind.
Making this dish takes less cooking time than making okonomiyaki! This dish also goes well with rice!
This became our staple dish which is easy but delicious.
