Cut the broccoli into bite size pieces, steam in a steamer (or microwave) for 4 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Boil the macaroni noodles in salted (not listed) water to the time indicated on the package plus 1 minute. When soft, cool in chilled water.
Boil the shrimp, and cut into thirds.
Make hard-boiled eggs, and divide into sixths.
Mix together the ingredients marked with ※.
When the ingredients (expect dressing) have all cooled, mix together
Arrange in a serving dish and dress immediately prior to eating.
Story Behind this Recipe
I saw the overpriced salad in the gourmet section of the department store, wondering if I could make one just as beautiful at home.
Boil the noodles on the soft side so they don't overpower the other textures in the salad. Blended peppercorns have a nice, strong aroma, but I think straight black pepper works better in this recipe. This recipe makes a generous amount because it's so good.
