This is a cute snack that looks like candy. It has a gentle maple syrup flavour and is simply squeezed together. You can also make it single-colored with just one type of sweet potato if you'd like.
I like the coloring of purple yam, so I came up with this recipe based on that. It's great served to guests, as a snack, to help fill up a bento lunch box, or as a seasonal dish.I sometimes make these with a candied chestnut in the middle.
You can also soften the sweet potatoes in the microwave. It's also good to add vanilla extract or cinnamon!You also don't have to use egg yolk or heat on the stove if you don't want to. Please taste and adjust the sweetness accordingly. You can use 5 tablespoons of white sugar instead of maple syrup with 3 tablespoons sugar if you'd prefer.
