Microwaved Komatsuna and Apple Dome Cake

A simple cake that you can steam in 4 minutes.
You use a blender to prepare the raw komatsuna greens and watch it fluff up in the microwae.

Ingredients: Makes one 16 cm diameter, 7 cm depth cake in a heat-resistant bowl

Apple (chopped in 1 cm cubes)
1/4 (50 g)
1 tablespoon
Lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon
☆ Komatsuna greens (chopped)
1/4 bundle (50 g)
☆ Egg
☆ Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
☆Raw cane sugar (or regular sugar)
1 tablespoon
Cake flour
100 g
Baking powder
1 teaspoon


1. Chop the apple into 1 cm cubes, then mix it with honey and lemon juice. Cover in a bowl loosely with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 1 minute. Chop the komatsuna greens.
2. Put all of the ingredients marked with ☆ in a blender and process.
3. Sift the cake flour and baking powder together in a bowl, then add the blended mixture from Step 2 and stir together.
4. Add the apple and wet ingredients from Step 1 and mix together.
5. Line a heat resistant bowl (a porcelain bowl will work) with plastic wrap and pour in the cake batter. Microwave the bowl at 600 W for 4 minutes.
