Cod à la Meunière with Mustard Sauce

This dish is great for people who love mustard.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Cod (or white fish)
2 fillets
a small amount
Plain flour
a small amount
Olive oil (for stir-frying)
a small amount
a small amount
For the sauce:
Grainy mustard
1 heaping tablespoon
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon
5 g
about 1/2 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
about 40 ml


1. Wipe off the excess water from the cod, sprinkle with salt, and coat with the flour.
2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan, and sauté the cod. Flip, sprinkle with sake, and cover with a lid to steam-fry.
3. Serve the cod on a plate. Add all the sauce ingredients into the pan and stir. Turn on the heat, let the liquid evaporate, then the sauce is ready.
4. Pour the sauce over the cod, serve with vegetables and you're all done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I tried mixing mustard with ingredients that seemed it would do well with since the my husband is huge mustard-lover. It looked nice, and everybody loved it.
For your information, I boiled the green beans, and seasoned themwith balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and salt. It's a typical Italian salad.
