Here's how to make the chocolate chip version of these ghost cupcakes (although you can use your favorite recipe for the bottom as well, and simply decorate them like little ghosts):
Prepare the ingredients. Bring butter and egg to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 340°F/170°C.
Whisk the butter until it reaches a creamy consistency, add the sugar a little at a time, and stir until the mixture becomes whitish.
Add the egg and whisk well.
Sift in the ● ingredients and fold in lightly in cutting motion.
After stirring briefly, add milk and chocolate chips, and stir. Try not to overmix.
Use a spoon to fill the cupcake tin, and bake for 25-30 minutes at 340°F/170°C.
They are done when a skewer inserted comes out clean.
To make the little ghosts:
On a sheet of parchment paper, make little dots out of melted chocolate and chill. You can also use a chocolate decorating pen.
Use a large, round decorating tip to pipe a swirl with whipped cream.
Add the eyes and they're ready to serve.
Story Behind this Recipe
Here's an easy way to decorate your cupcakes for Halloween.
Adjust the amount of baking time to your oven. If the tops look like they're going to burn, cover with aluminum foil. The chocolate can melt easily when applying the eyes, so chill them on a pack of ice, and use tweezers to quickly attach them.
