Easy Cabbage Pork Rolls in 10 Minutes

This is a completely satisfying dish that you can make in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients: 7 rolls

Thinly sliced pork
110 g, 7 slices
Cabbage
2 leaves
Seasoning Ingredients:
Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
Mirin
2 teaspoons
Sugar
1 teaspoon
Salt and pepper
to taste
Katakuriko
as needed
Sesame oil
as needed

Steps

1. Cut the cabbage to match the size of the thinly-sliced pork and roll up in the meat.
2. Combine all of the seasoning ingredients, except for the katakuriko, and coat Step 1. Dust the rolls with katakuriko.
3. Place the meat rolls in the frying pan with the seam side down and begin to pan-fry. Add the leftover seasoning ingredients from Step 2 and fry on medium heat for 2-3 minutes to finish.
4. Pour on the sauce that's left in the frying pan over the rolls when serving.

Story Behind this Recipe

I always make meat rolls with whatever vegetables I have on hand to use in bentos. Since cabbage doesn't need to be finely chopped or parboiled in order to be cooked quickly, it's simple and cheap to use. It can be made with just a small amount of meat but it's still an excellent dish so it's really economical.
