Standard Scones

Standard Scones

A person from England even asked me about the ingredients. This is a recipe I'm proud of.

Ingredients: makes 8 to 12

Plain flour
250 g
Baking powder
1 tablespoon
60 g
1 to 2 tablespoons
a pinch
80 ml

1. Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and the 1-2cm cubed butter into a bowl. Use your fingers to massage the butter into the flour in a twisting motion.
2. As shown in the picture, once the butter is finer than rice grains and has become smooth, add the beaten eggs. Use a rice scoop, etc. to mix. Be careful not to knead.
3. Once the powder no longer sticks to your fingers, gather it together with your hands and place it on your cooking board. It will still be a little powdery.
4. Use a rolling pin or your hands to stretch out to a thickness of 2 to 3 cm. Use a mold to make the shapes or cut with a knife. Bake in your preheated oven at 180℃ for 10 to 20 minutes.
5. When serving, cut open in half lengthwise and add jam or cream.
6. This recipe is for plain scones. I felt that using oatmeal would make it too heavy.
