Soy Sauce and Garlic Pickled Shiso Leaves

Soy Sauce and Garlic Pickled Shiso Leaves

Shiso leaves are delicious with garlic. These also keep well, which is handy.

Shiso leaves
10 leaves
1/2 clove
Usukuchi soy sauce
50 ml
Cooking sake
1/2 tablespoon

1. Thinly slice the garlic.
2. Place the shiso leaves in a Tupperware container, then add the soy sauce, cooking sake, and sliced garlic.
3. Put the container in the fridge to soak. This photo shows how the leaves should look after 1 day of soaking.
4. Wrap onigiri rice balls with them, or mince them to make a condiment for other dishes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made these for onigiri rice balls.
