Quick & Easy Skewer-Free Yakitori with Japanese Leek

This is an easy, lazy person's yakitori recipe without skewers.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Chicken thigh
1 (about 300 g)
Japanese leek
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1/2 tablespoon
*Soy sauce
2 tablespoons


1. Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Cut the Japanese leek into 2 cm pieces. Combine the * ingredients.
2. Heat a frying pan, add the Japanese leek, and fry while rolling around until lightly browned. Remove from the pan for a moment.
3. Add chicken in the pan, cover with a lid, and fry over medium-high. Shake the pan occasionally so that the chicken doesn't get burnt.
4. Return the Japanese leek to the pan, and continue stir-frying until the chicken is lightly browned.
5. Pour in the * mixture and mix well. Continue stir-frying until the liquid has evaporated a little bit and the sauce starts to thicken.
6. You're all done!

I was trying to think of a recipe to use chicken. I didn't feel like making fried chicken or chicken steak... so I went with yakitori!
