Place the pancake mix, cocoa powder, and milk (and sugar if using unsweetened cocoa) into the silicone steamer and combine well.
Break the chocolate into pieces and add 2/3 to the batter. Stir well. Place the remaining 1/3 on the top.
Cover the silicone steamer with the lid and microwave for 3 minutes at 500 W. Leave for another 3 minutes with the lid on to steam.
Once it has finished steaming, remove from the container and place on a rack to cool.
It tastes delicious whether you enjoy it right away while the chocolate is still gooey, or if you chill it in the refrigerator.
Story Behind this Recipe
I had a lot of milk cocoa powder leftover so I came up with this recipe to make a rich chocolate cake using the powder.
Rather than a chocolate bar, you could also add marshmallows, nuts, white chocolate, etc. You could even spread some whipped cream on it before you eat! Arrange it however you want! Since it only takes 10 minutes, add different ingredients into the batter.
