Bean Sprouts & Pork Belly with Ponzu in the Microwave

Just microwave for 5 minutes! Anyone can make this simple dish. And even though it's super easy, it's also delicious.

Ingredients: 1-2 servings

Bean sprouts
1 bag
Pork belly, thinly sliced meat
to taste
Green onion or scallion
to taste
Salt and pepper
to taste
Your choice of ponzu sauce
to taste


1. Quickly rinse the bean sprouts and dry off the moisture. Pile them up on a plate.
2. Top the bean sprouts with the meat. Spread out and overlap the meat so that there are no gaps.
3. Season everything with salt and pepper. Loosely cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 600 W for 5 minutes.
4. Remove from the microwave, take off the plastic wrap, and garnish with finely chopped green onion. Top with your choice of ponzu sauce and enjoy!

Story Behind this Recipe

There's a dish similar to this at an Izakaya (Japanese bar) and I thought that I could make that at home! This has been a standard dish in our home for many years.
