Sweet & Savory Stewed Chicken Liver

This sweet and salty chicken liver and ginger stew can be made quickly. If you prepare the liver properly, you'll be richly rewarded.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Chicken Liver
200-250 g
★Ginger
1/2 knob
★Sake
3 tablespoons
★Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
★Mirin
2 tablespoons
★Sugar
2 tablespoons

Steps

1. Remove the fat and bloody meat from the chicken liver. Cut into bite-sized pieces and soak in water for 5 minutes. Julienne the ginger.
2. Put Step 1 into boiling water and boil for just 15 seconds. Drain and soak in ice cold water. Dry it off well with a paper towel.
3. Place the ★ ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add Step 2 and simmer for 7-8 minutes on medium-low heat. Lastly, raise the heat to high to add gloss to the meat.
4. Arrange on a dish and top the ginger as a garnish.
