Refreshing and Crispy Tofu Salad

Refreshing and Crispy Tofu Salad

Here in Thailand, where it's hot all year round, I often don't have much of an appetite. This recipe is a perfect way to whet it. Of course, it's great even when I do have an appetite. This is an essential salad for the hot season.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Silken tofu
2 servings' worth
1/3 to 1/2 (depending on the size)
Daikon radish sprouts (I also recommend mizuna greens )
the same amount as the onion
Canned tuna
1/2 can
Shredded nori seaweed
to taste
✿ Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
✿ Mentsuyu
1 tablespoon
✿ Mayonnaise
to taste
✿ Sesame oil
a small amount

1. Chop the tofu into bite-sized pieces. This makes the salad easier to eat.
2. Thinly slice the onion and soak in water. Rinse the daikon sprouts and cut into bite-sized lengths.
3. Arrange the tofu on a serving plate. Garnish with the well-drained onions and sprouts from Step 2.
4. Scatter tuna on top.
5. Drizzle the dressing made from the combined ✿ ingredients, top with mayonnaise, then serve.
6. Right before serving, sprinkle finely shredded nori seaweed. Be sure to toss the salad well before eating to blend the mayonnaise and dressing.
7. In response to suggestions from COOKPAD users, I made a version with mizuna! This is also delicious. I added a tiny bit of sesame seed dressing to my own.
