Chinese Chive Jeon (Korean Savory Pancakes)

This is a recipe for Jeon (Korean savory pancakes) with lots of Chinese chives. Enjoy with a tangy vinegar sauce.

Ingredients: 2 x 20 cm round pancakes

Chinese chives
1 bunch
Egg
1
Water
150 ml
Cake flour
100 g
Joshinko
50 g
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
☆ White ground sesame seeds
2 tablespoons
☆ Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
☆ Vinegar
2 tablespoons
☆ Gochujang
2 teaspoons

Steps

1. Beat the egg in a bowl, add and mix the water, cake flour, rice flour and the salt. Add the chives cut into 3 cm and stir the batter.
2. Heat either the vegetable or sesame oil (not listed) in a skillet and pour half of the batter from Step 1. Cook both sides until lightly browned.
3. Cut into easy to eat sizes. Combine the ☆ ingredients to make the sauce and serve with the jeon.
