Yakiniku Onigiri Sandwich

This is a yakiniku (barbecue-style beef) onigiri sandwich.

Ingredients: 10 onigiri (10 x 10 cm)

White rice
450 g
Toasted white sesame seeds
a lot
Nori seaweed
5 sheets
Korean lettuce or leafy letttuce
a lot
Thinly sliced beef
200 g
Store-bought yakiniku sauce
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon


1. This is the yakiniku sauce I used.
2. Finely chop the meat, pre-season, and coat in katakuriko.
3. Cook the meat and let it cool.
4. Mix the rice with a lot of sesame and let it cool.
5. Line a container with plastic wrap and add the seaweed. I used a 10 cm x 10 cm container and seaweed sheets divided into four.
6. Spread the rice out on top.
7. Cut the leaves into suitable sizes and place on top.
8. Add the meat, spreading it out evenly.
9. Spread the rice on top.
10. Top with seaweed, cover with the plastic wrap and push down on it.
11. Slice it into suitable sizes and serve.
