DIY Herb Salciccia

You just knead the ingredients into the meat and boil, it is a simple way to make homemade salsiccia. It tastes especially good when it is homemade.

Ingredients: 4 pieces

Fatty ground pork
250 g
Lean ground pork
150 g
Various herbs (thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary etc.)
5 or 6 varieties
1 teaspoon
to taste


1. Finely chop your favorite herbs.
2. Place the meat and finely chopped herbs, salt, and pepper into a bowl and knead together thoroughly.
3. Divide the ingredients from step 2 into 100 g portions, roll into long thin tubes, wrap in aluminum foil, twist both ends like a pieces of candy, and secure.
4. Bring water to a boil, and boil for about 10 minutes until the meat has completely cooked through.
5. After boiling, cool the meat down slightly in cold water, and remove the aluminum foil.
6. It tastes great as-is, or grilled! Eat with roasted potatoes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I learned this the other day at a party. The kneaded meat tastes great fried, but I tried boiling it, and it came out tender, so that is part of the recipe.
