Homemade Udon Noodles Made With Matcha Aojiru

Homemade Udon Noodles Made With Matcha Aojiru

I made these matcha-flavoured udon noodles for my son.
You only need the ingredients you have at home.
The noodles are easy to make and are chewy. Best of all, they are very healthy.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Cake flour
200 g
110 ml
Aojiru with matcha
1 packet (4.7 g)
Flour for dusting
as needed

1. Add the cake flour and aojiru into a bowl, and mix with a whisk.
2. Add the milk to the Step 1 bowl, and mix until the mixture comes together. Place in a ziploc bag, and step on it to knead gently for about 15-30 minutes.
3. It's too much work for me, so I put all the ingredients in a bag from the beginning, and do the rest.
4. It will look like this.
5. Dust with flour, and roll it out and fold it into your desired thickness or cut into your desired width.
6. It will should like this.
7. Separate the noodles, and boil in boiling water for about 2 minutes. Adjust the boiling time depending on the thickness and width of the noodles.
8. Serve them however you like.
9. I usually set aside a small portion of the dough, and form into small balls just like dango balls, then eat with black sugar syrup as a snack.

Story Behind this Recipe

There are 'cha soba' (noodles flavoured with green tea), so I though 'cha udon' might be good. I made this dish for my son, who only eats udon noodles.
