Som Tum Salad (Green Papaya Salad)

Green papayas are great for burning fat and carbohydrates, so give this dish a try when you're on a diet.

Ingredients

Green papaya
250 g
Carrot
1/3
Green pepper
1
Cabbage
1/6
Tomato
1 small
Sauce
Lemon juice
2 tablespoons
Fish sauce
4 tablespoons
Sugar
3 teaspoons
Grated garlic (from a tube)
about 1cm
Sliced red chilli
as desired
Peanuts (finely chopped)
10 g

Steps

1. Julienne the green papaya, soak in water, and drain. See Recipe ID: 1835126.
2. Julienne the carrot, green pepper, and cabbage. Chop the tomatoes into 1 cm chunks.
3. Combine the seasoning ingredients.
4. Combine Steps 1, 2, and 3 with the combined seasoning ingredients to finish.

Story Behind this Recipe

Usually, I can only eat green papaya at a Thai food restaurant as they never have it at the supermarket. But, they had it, so I quickly bought it and made something with it.
