Easy Milan Style Gratinéed Rice with Melted Cheese

I reproduced my favorite "Milan-style doria (rice gratin)" recipe from a local restaurant. My kids love it too!

Ingredients: 4 people

For the turmeric rice:
White rice
2 rice cooker cups worth (360ml)
Turmeric
1 teaspoon
Finely chopped onions
1/2
Butter
1 tablespoon
White Sauce
Plain flour
3 tablespoons
Butter
2 tablespoons
Milk
400ml
Salt and pepper
to taste
Soup stock granules (Consomme bouillon powder)
1 teaspoon
Canned Meat Sauce
1 can
Easy melting cheese
as much as you like

Steps

1. Put the ingredients for the turmeric rice into a rice cooker, add a normal amount of water, and press start on the rice cooker.
2. We have made beautifully colored turmeric rice.
3. Heat up a heavy pot over low heat. Melt the butter, add flour, and mix constantly so that it doesn't form clumps.
4. Add the milk in several batches and continue mixing until it thickens. Lastly, season with soup stock powder, salt, and pepper.
5. Put the turmeric rice in an oven-safe dish. Pour the white sauce over it.
6. Top with the meat sauce and sprinkle with melting type cheese.
7. Bake in an oven or toaster oven. When the cheese is browned it's done.
