Hors d'oeuvre Italian-Baked Sweet Onions

If you want to make a little something that's easy, try this simple hors d'oeuvre when you're drinking at home. You only need to bake for the sweet and delightful flavor of onions to emerge.

Ingredients: An easy-to-make amount

Sweet onions (small)
Olive oil
as needed
Herb salt (Krazy Salt)
as needed
Grated cheese
as needed
to taste
Your favorite vegetables as accompaniment


1. Peel the onions. Remove the stem and hard ends, then chop in half. Spread aluminum foil on a baking tray and align the onions.
2. Use a spoon to spread olive oil thinly. Sprinkle some herb salt and pepper.
3. Top with grated cheese. Bake in the oven until the onions are soft and browned. If it's too browned, cover with aluminum foil while it's baking.
4. Here, I topped cherry tomatoes on sautéed zoocchini to accompany the onions, and arranged them on a large serving plate.
5. I scattered some parsley and served with basil sauce (store-bought is fine).
