Japanese-Style Pot-Au-Feu (Stew)

You can fully enjoy the natural sweetness of vegetables in this soy sauce-based pot-au-feu that is low in calories.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Cabbage
1/4
Potatoes

Carrot
1
Onion
1
Bacon
20 g
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon
Dashi stock granules
5 g
Mirin
2 tablespoons
Water
amount to cover the ingredients
Chopped parsley (optional)
as needed
Coarsely ground black pepper (optional)
to taste

Steps

1. Cut the vegetables and bacon into bite-sized pieces. Put them into a pot and pour enough water to cover the ingredients. Turn on the heat.
2. Add the seasonings and turn down the heat when it comes to a boil. Simmer over low heat until the ingredients are soft. Taste and adjust the saltiness as necessary.
3. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with parsley. If you like, serve with coarsely ground black pepper.
