Genuine Sesame Tofu with Yuzu Pepper Paste

Genuine Sesame Tofu with Yuzu Pepper Paste

This is an easy sesame tofu made with gelatin. Since it has corn starch in it, the texture is just like the genuine sesame tofu made with kudzu starch!!

Ingredients: 3 servings

Roasted sesame seeds (I used Shinsei brand's)
3 tablespoons
100 ml
100 ml
Gelatin leaves
2 sheets (3 g)
Corn starch
1 tablespoon
Salt, sugar
a pinch each
Yuzu pepper sauce:
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
Yuzu pepper paste
1/2 teaspoon
Roasted sesame seeds (I used Shinsei brand's)
1/2 tablespoon
Sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon

1. Soak the gelatin in water.
2. Grind the sesame seeds in a mortar (until you no longer see the shape of the sesame seeds).
3. Warm the milk in a microwave at 600 W for 50 seconds. In a bowl, add the warmed milk and the drained and squeezed gelatin and mix it until the gelatin dissolves.
4. Add the water and the sesame seeds from Step 2 into the bowl from Step 3, and mix well. Add the cornstarch and mix more.
5. Microwave the mixture from Step 4 at 600 W for 2 minutes. Using a whisk, mix it really well until it thickens and the sesame seeds no longer sink to the bottom.
6. Season it with salt and sugar. Dip the mold in water and pour the mixture in it. Chill it in the refrigerator.
7. Transfer it into a serving bowl. Eat it with your favorite sauce. Yuzu pepper sauce, wasabi and soy sauce, sesame seed sauce or miso sauce go well with it.
