Sweet and Savory Burdock & Beef Simmer

This is a tender and flavorful burdock dish.
Goes great with rice.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Thinly sliced beef
350 g
Burdock root
Shirataki (konnyaku noodles)
1 package (160 g)
700 ml
4 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
◎Soy sauce
5 tablespoons


1. Use a knife to peel the burdock skin, cut into long thin shavings, and soak in water.
2. Put the water and burdock into a pot and boil until the burdock softens (about 5~10 minutes). Remove any scum that rises to the surface.
3. Add the ◎ ingredients and bring to a boil. Add the beef.
4. Remove the scum as you go, cook the beef and then add the shirataki. Cook until the sauce cooks down, about 14 minutes. Enjoy.
5. User "Seya" topped it over udon to make "Burdock Beef Udon."
