Bistro Beef Steak with Onion Sauce

Bistro Beef Steak with Onion Sauce

This is an all-purpose onion sauce.

Ingredients: 2-4 servings

Beef Steak
Soy sauce & mirin
50 ml each
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Beef fat
1 piece
Vegetable oil
about 1 tablespoon

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and then sauté the onion over medium heat. Add the soy sauce and mirin and simmer for a few minutes to make the sauce.
2. Melt the beef fat in the heated pan. Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper, then cook in the pan over high heat until both sides are crisp.
3. Wrap it up in aluminum foil to seal in the juices. When it has cooled, cut into thin pieces. Top generously with the onion sauce and serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

Lately, I've been into onion sauce, so I tried it on steak.
