Microwaved Okomiyaki in 5 Minutes

Microwaved Okomiyaki in 5 Minutes

You don't need a knife, a frying pan or oil! Just mix it all together! Just microwave it and before you know it, you'll have fluffy and creamy okonomiyaki. This is good as lunch for one too.

Ingredients: 1 serving

2 leaves
1 slice
1 slice
Your preferred filling
as you like
*Plain flour
4~5 tablespoons
2-3 tablespoons
*Dashi stock granules
1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
* Baking powder (optional - to make the okonomiyaki fluffy)
1/4 teaspoon
Bonito flakes and aonori seaweed
as much as you like
Your preferred sauce and mayonnaise
as much as you like

1. Place the torn up cabbage on a slightly deep plate, cover with plastic wrap and then microwave for 1 minutes. (I like wilted cabbage, but you don't have to microwave it.)
2. Add the * ingredients and then mix well! (You will add the mayonnaise and sauce later).
3. Tear up your desired amount of ham and cheese and then place it on top. Gently cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 3-4 minutes at 700 W. Test if it's ready with a toothpick.
4. Add your favorite toppings such as okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, aonori seaweed, and it's done.
5. If you want to take it out of the plate, put parchment paper or plastic wrap down first to make it easier.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had a craving for okonomiyaki but I had to find a fun way to make it easily. I can use a frying pan but.... making it in a microwave would be easier! This tastes just like a regular one too!
