Rutabaga Canapé

Rutabaga Canapé

I changed the base of baby sardine canapé from cracker to "rutabaga". You can make it quickly by using microwave.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Rutabaga
a half
Shirasu
3 tablespoons
Italian parsley
as needed
Coarsely ground salt and pepper
a small amount
Olive oil
1 tablespoon
Pink peppercorns (if available)
4

Steps

1. Rutabaga is known as "Swiss turnip". Peel it and slice it into about 8 mm thick round slices.
2. Place it in a silicone steamer or in a microwavable plastic bag, and microwave it for 1 minute 30 seconds.
3. Add olive oil and the coarsely ground salt and pepper into shirasu and chopped parsley. MIx them well.
4. Top the sliced rutabagas from Step 2 with the mixture from Step 3. Decorate them with the pink peppercorns.

Story Behind this Recipe

I tried to use the rutabaga that I bought first time from a local shop.
