Nanohana & Chicken Tenders with Lemon Sauce

Nanohana & Chicken Tenders with Lemon Sauce

Lemon is added to the usual sesame sauce for a refreshing flavor and aroma. Try it with the nanohana, which is in season in the spring.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

1 bunch
Chicken tenders
★Lemon juice
2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
★Light soy sauce
1 tablespoon
★Ground sesame seeds
2-3 tablespoons
★Horseradish (paste)
4 cm

1. Combine the ★ ingredients.
2. Place the chicken tenders into a heat-proof dish and season with 1 tablespoon of sake (not listed in ingredients.) Lightly cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 2 minutes to steam.
3. Once cooled, shred the chicken with your hands.
4. Add a pinch of salt to boiling water. Quickly boil the nanohana. Tightly squeeze out the water and cut into 2-3 cm long pieces.
5. Combine the nanohana with the chicken tenders and add the sauce from Step 1. Season with a touch of salt to finish.

Story Behind this Recipe

I often make nanohana leaves with sesame sauce, but decided to try adding some chicken tenders to increase the volume.
