Shiitake Mushrooms Baked With Miso and Mayonnaise

The best way to eat shiitake mushrooms! This is a very easy appetizer to go with drinks.

Ingredients: 6 shiitake mushrooms

Shiitake mushrooms
● Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
● Miso
1 teaspoon
● Sugar
1/2 teaspoon
● Grated garlic
1 small clove
● Green onion
1 stalk
● The stems of the shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped
All of it
● Black pepper
To taste
White sesame seeds
A little bit


1. Mix all the ● ingredients together.
2. Spread inside the shiitake mushroom caps. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, and just bake in an oven!!
3. The miso-mayonnaise is delicious on chicken, white fish, or shrimp. Try adding some pizza cheese.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made these to use up some of the many shiitake mushrooms we received as a gift, and my husband loved them.
He now insists that this is the only way to eat shiitake mushrooms.
