French Toast made without Milk or Eggs

French Toast made without Milk or Eggs

This is one breakfast that I look forward to more than pancakes on those sleepy mornings! Our leftover bread crust was completely devoured thanks to this recipe and Recipe ID: 1766153.

Frozen bread crusts
About 2 handfuls
Soy milk
150 ml
Vanilla beans (or vanilla extract)
1/2 bean (as needed)
Beet sugar
2 tablespoons
Kudzu starch (or katakuriko)
1 teaspoon
Vegetable oil (I use refined sesame oil)
1 teaspoon

1. Take the bread crusts that you've saved up out of the freezer, and shred off bite-sized pieces into a bowl. (Do this while they are still frozen.)
2. Add the beet sugar, kudzu powder, vanilla bean, and soy milk, in that order, and dissolve the kudzu powder.
3. Coat a frying pan with oil, pour in the batter, cover with a lid. After the underside is cooked, flip it over, and cook for an additional 5 minutes without the lid, and it's done. These are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making them really tasty.
4. Enjoy them with maple syrup. (The cover photo shows it served with Recipe ID: 1752590's Macrobiotic Chocolate Fondue Syrup.)
5. You can also mix all of the ingredients except for the oil directly in the frying pan, cover with a lid, and steam-cook it. That also makes a crispy, fluffy, and delicious French toast.
6. Mixing raisins into the dough helps you cut calories, since you won't need maple syrup to sweeten, and they also increase the nutritional value.
