Microwave Low-Sugar Strawberry Jam

Microwave Low-Sugar Strawberry Jam

This is a delicately sweet jam made in the microwave. Try this when you have small seasonal strawberries. You can also make this with frozen strawberries.

Strawberries (small) or frozen strawberries
200 g or 100 g
Granulated sugar (or light brown sugar)
5-6 tablespoons or 3 tablespoons
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon or 1/2 tablespoon

1. Wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Pat dry. For how to prepare the strawberries, refer to Recipe ID: 2519226.
2. Put the strawberries in a deep heatproof dish and sprinkle sugar and lemon juice on top. Lightly wrap with plastic wrap and microwave for 5 minutes.
3. Remove the plastic wrap, mix, and heat in the microwave uncovered for another 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it and once it becomes lumpy (after about 2-3 minutes), it's done.
4. Put it into a sterilized container and flip it upside down. Store in the refrigerator once cooled.
5. You can also make it using frozen strawberries.
6. Add the sugar and lemon juice and make it the same way as listed above, but reduce the amount of time in the microwave (2 1/2 minutes, then for another 2 1/2 minutes).
7. This is jam made with frozen strawberries. It's delicious.
8. This is a jam made for storage with a bit less sugar and cooked for a bit longer. The strawberries retain their shape, but it's a bit thicker.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is my family's favorite strawberry jam that I have made for a long time.
For blueberry jam, refer to Recipe ID: 617326. My family likes to make it with light brown sugar. If using large strawberries, cut them up before microwaving.
