Wash the rice and leave to strain in a sieve. Soak the saffron in white wine for 10 minutes. Then, add the rice to the rice cooker.
Pour in the wine and saffron along with the normal amount of water you would use to cook rice, add the salt and lightly mix everything together. Cut the butter up and add it in, then cook the rice as you would normally.
This is what the rice looks like when it's cooked. Add in meat, fish, or use in stews. This rice goes well with anything.
Story Behind this Recipe
I always make this anyway so I decided to turn it into a recipe.
If you don't like white wine you can use water instead. The aroma and the colour of the finished rice will vary depending on which brand of saffron you use.
