A Classic Shogayaki Pork Ginger Bento

This is a standard shogayaki pork ginger that can be easily made using these instructions. If you dredge the pork slices with flour, the sauce coats well and makes it a great bento item.


Pork loin
300~400 g
☆Juice from grated ginger
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
★Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
1~2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
★Grated ginger
1 tablespoon
as needed
Cabbage, broccoli, cherry tomatoes
as needed
Plain cooked rice
as needed


1. Julienne the cabbage. Boil the broccoli in salted water.
2. Make small cuts in the pork, then marinate in the ☆ ingredients for 15 minutes. Mix the ★ ingredients in a dish.
3. Lightly dredge Step 1 with flour using a tea strainer.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the meat. Once cooked, add the ★ sauce and coat.
5. Put the cabbage into a bento box, then add Step 3. Top with the sauce. Add the vegetables.
