Healthy Firm Tofu Hamburgers

If you have tofu and canned tuna, you can easily make these very nutritious and healthy hamburgers.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Tofu
1/2 block
Green onion or scallion
1
Carrot
5 cm
Chirimen jako
1 tablespoon
Canned tuna
1 can (strain the oil)
White sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
Salt and pepper
a dash each
Vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
1 tablespoon
☆For the sauce:
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Mirin
2 tablespoons
Sake
1 tablespoon
Sugar
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Wrap the tofu in a paper towel and let sit for 30 minutes to drain the excess water.
2. Finely julienne the carrot and finely chop the green onion.
3. In a bowl, combine the drained tofu, carrot, green onion, chirimen jako, canned tuna, and sesame seeds. Mix all the ingredients and season with salt and pepper.
4. Flatten out the mixed mixture into round patties, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry both sides of the patties until golden brown.
5. Pour the combined sauce over the patties in one go. Simmer until the sauce thickens and the patties are well coated.
