Healthy Okara Nuggets

These healthy nuggets are inexpensive and easy. There's absolutely no meat inside. Great for dieters and expecting mothers, and even as a savior of the dinner table before payday. An amazing dish for bentos or as a side dish.

Ingredients: 10-15 nuggets

Fresh okara
200 g
80-100 g
3 tablespoons
3 tablespoons
Dashida, or powdered (chicken) soup stock
1 tablespoon
Grated garlic
1 teaspoon


1. Put all ingredients into a bowl (or a food processor). Fold everything with a wooden spatula.
2. Mix until the mixture becomes soft and smooth.
3. Shape it into a nugget-shape.
4. Deep-fry until they turn golden brown.
5. Done.
6. These nuggets are already flavored without any sauce, but you can also serve them with ketchup or mayonnaise if you'd like.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made some okara stew, but I didn't know what to do with the leftover okara. After some thought, I made them into nuggets. They were surprisingly delicious. My husband loved them too.
