Delicious Hanpen Wrapped in Bacon

Make this in 5 minutes with a oven while cooking other dishes. Easy drinking snack made in a flash. Also good for bentos since it's good even when it's cold.

Ingredients: 2 to 3 Servings

4 slices (8 if half-sized slices)
Olive oil
1 tablespoon
Black pepper
As needed
A small amount


1. Chop the hanpen into eights.
2. Slice the bacon in half. Use the whole thing if you're using half-sized bacon.
3. Wrap up the hanpen with the bacon and secure with a toothpick.
4. Cook in a oven. Sprinkle olive oil, then salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes in a preheated oven.
5. It's ready to eat when the bacon and the hanpen is nicely browned like this.

I ate hanpen and bacon at a yakitori place when I was in Tokyo.
Wondering if I could make it at home, I came up with this variation that requires a oven.
